Flow Terms and Conditions

1. Contract Agreement Terms

FLOW is an electric vehicle renting platform which is operated by Etrix AG and ElectricFeel AG. Initially, FLOW (hereinafter: Provider) offers electric mopeds to end customers (hereinafter: Users) for temporary rent and usage. Every time a user confirms their registration on the FLOW platform, a membership agreement is established automatically.

These terms and conditions apply to the use of the FLOW app and rental contract and can be additionally found in the app.

Provider keeps the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions if necessary to adapt to changed legal or technical requirements. Users will be informed about any changes by email and can object to them in writing. Any such objection will result in the termination of the contractual relationship. No payments will be refunded.


2. The Service


FLOW is a service for rentals of electric vehicles.

You are required to be at least the A1 driver's license holder according to the Swiss law.

The vehicles are rented from the FLOW Hubs with the use of the FLOW app.

The current permitted service area for riding FLOW vehicles is illustrated on the map inside the app. Rides outside the permitted service area are not allowed.

The rental can only be ended at one of the FLOW hubs, as shown in the FLOW app.

During the rental, users are allowed to park the vehicle outside of the Hub, always locking the vehicle with the related app feature. Parking is only allowed on official motorcycle parking spots inside the permitted area.

3. Availability


Currently available vehicles are shown in the app and are located at one of the FLOW Hubs.

FLOW cannot constantly guarantee the availability of vehicles at specific times.

FLOW’s fleet will be increasing over time based on the users’ needs.

4. Registration


In order to use the service, you must register in the FLOW app providing your full name, address, age, photos of your ID and a driver's license and a selfie.

To ride one of our FLOW electric mopeds you need:

  • a driving license that includes category A or A1, valid in Switzerland
  • at least 1 year of moped or motorcycle driving experience*
  • a valid credit card (VISA, Mastercard, Amex)

It’s required to have a personal active user account to use the service.

5. Rental Fees

  • The most recent service fees are provided in the FLOW app. The fees at the moment of starting a new rental apply for that rental.
  • A fee is charged for verifying the account and activating the user. This fee is not charged if the user’s account gets rejected.
  • The standard, default tariff is hourly billing and is charged at the end of the rental. The total payable fee is calculated based on the duration of the rental, rounded to the next hour.
  • To have a lower price per hour, users can purchase credit at a discount: this credit never expires and can be used against the standard tariff (hourly). In addition, users receive some credit when recommending new users; this credit can only be used with the standard tariff.
  • For daily and weekly rentals, FLOW offers day and week passes, which are charged to the credit card upon their purchase. The User should should end the rental before the pass expires to avoid extra charges.
  • Day and week passes are not reimbursable.
  • By providing a method of payment, the User gives the operator an authorization to directly charge the fee (rental fee, penalty fees, etc.).
  • A reservation can be cancelled at no additional costs for a maximum of 1 time before the ride, and cannot be cancelled after the beginning of the rental period, and the full price for the booking is due.

6. User Liability & Obligations

  • The User uses the app at their own responsibility for keeping the data secure.
  • Users should ride in accordance with the traffic and regulations by law, be familiar with the vehicle operation and safe use of vehicles. Vehicles should be parked in accordance with local regulations and locked via “Lock” function in the app.
  • The maximum load of the moped including rider’s weight is 120 kg.
  • The customer must keep their personal data stored in the app account up to date. This applies to the legal documents, address, email address, personal phone number and payment details.
  • Before starting the ride, the User is obligated to ensure that the vehicle is in proper condition: the lights and brakes work properly; the mirror is intact and clean; the tires are inflated; the number plate is in place and visible; helmets are available.
  • The User is responsible for any vehicle damage that occurred during the time of their rent and will be charged the deductible of up to 500.00 CHF, plus the administration charge of 80.00 CHF for processing any repair. Damages above 500.00 CHF are covered by Provider’s insurance.

    Other penalties that may be applied:
  • Giving access to service to another user: up to 500.00 CHF
  • Leaving of the permitted area: 200.00 CHF
  • Fines: according to the legislation, will be forwarded or charged directly to the payment method registered in the app
  • Administration charge (to process fines): 35.00 CHF  
  • Administration charge (damages): 80.00 CHF  

7. Suspension of Use


The Provider can temporarily block the account of the User in case of, but not limited to:

  • provision of incorrect data at registration;
  • negligence of due payments (failed charge on the credit card);
  • other violations of the contract agreement terms.

The FLOW support team may unblock the account again, if the reasons for suspension are resolved.

The Provider keeps the right to permanently remove the User's account due to heavy, or repeated actions breaching the contract.

8. Provider Liability


The Provider is not liable for any damage and associated costs, unless the damage was caused by the operator due to negligence or on purpose.

The Provider is not responsible for the loss of items left by the User in or on the vehicles, or stored in the vehicle’s transport spaces during the rental period.

9. Insurance


The User is required to have active health and accident insurance at all times during the contract and usage of the service.

10. Accidents


In case of an accident, the User shall stop immediately and must report the accident to the police by filling in the necessary report documents, provided by the police at the place of the road accident.

The User must also inform the Provider via support chat (during the business hours) or by email (support@ride-flow.ch) about the incident, giving detailed information about the occurrence, the position and time of an incident, and where possible, pictures of the damage.

11. Privacy Policy


The Provider processes all the user’s data in compliance with the provisions of Swiss data protection legislation. The Provider is authorized to collect and process personal data for the objective of concluding the contract and offering the contractual services.

The User agrees that their data can be shared with relevant third parties, such as authorized payment providers and similar, for the performance, processing and management of the contractual agreement. Personal data may also be used in aggregated and anonymised form for statistics, research and study purposes.

The vehicles use a tracking system to recognize their location. This data is used to recognize start and end location of the rental, as security against theft and damage, as well as for internal evaluation for improving the service.

12. Termination of the Agreement


This contract can be terminated by either party in a written form (e-mail), or by requesting the deletion of the account via the app.

The Provider reserves the right to refuse the registration of a customer or the conclusion of a rental agreement, if the User does not comply with the terms of this contract. No payments will be refunded.

13. Jurisdiction and applicable law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.
